This year’s Quiz, in aid of the Southern Gay Men’s Health Project, will take place this Wednesday evening in Loafer’s bar in Cork city centre. The quiz will be hosted by the lovely Fabula, Cork’s self-anointed First Lady.
The general knowledge quiz consists of 60 questions and kicks off at 8.30pm. Prior to that, we’ll be meeting outside the student’s centre in UCC at 7.45pm then walking in, though you’re welcome to meet us in Loafer’s.
Each member of the victorious team will win a 2GB Sandisk Sansa MP3 player, which can be expanded with SD memory cards.
A table of up to five people costs 20 euro, which comes to five euro or less per head, which all in all isn’t bad for a night’s entertainment. Teams can be prearranged or just show up on the night and we’ll organise a team for you.
Thanks to Fabula and Loafer’s for their efforts in organising the quiz. Let’s enjoy ourselves and raise some money for a well-deserving local charity. See you there!

Hey All,
This week we’re organising a [b]self-defence session[/b] in Electrical Engineering L3 at 8pm.
Homophobia is still out there, and just to make sure everyone in the society is equipped with a basic ability to defend themselves against physical attack, we’re running the class as an introduction to self-defence. We held a similar event last year which was one of the year’s highlights for many students.
See you outside the students’ centre at 7.45pm. We’ll be in touch with the society membership via webtext before then. Anyone wishing to be added to the webtext list, PM me or email the society at lgbt@uccsocieties.ie

Hey all-
This week’s event is an EGM (Emergency General Meeting), where we’ll be filling a number of committee positions aswell as organising subcomittees for the various campaigns and events for the coming year. All are welcome to join and to put themselves up for election. We also look forward to hearing your suggestions about the direction the society should take for the year in relation to events and campaigns.
Following the formalities, which won’t take too long!), we’ll be making the short trip to the Mardyke complex for a free round of bowling, and maybe even a beverage or two.
Did we mention it’s free? We’re meeting at 7.45 outside the Students Centre, and the meeting is due to start at 8pm in Electrical Engineering L3, which is our base for the year.
