Pink Training Sign Up
The UCC LGBT will be taking names for Pink Traning 2009 in Belfast on the weekend of November 6th-8th this Thursday.
What is Pink Training? The weekend usually consists of talks, workshops, guest speakers, presentations, safe spaces and a night out or two! Workshops this year range from sexual heath to coming out to queer theory. Talks include talks on Trans 101, LGBT 101, The History of Pride, etc. This years key note speakers are Katherine Zappone and Ann Louise Gilligan.
If you’re interested in coming along, please bring the required €35 (includes transport to and from Belfast, accomodation and dinner) to Muscrai in the UCC student centre this Thursday, October 22nd. Committee members will be there from 12:30-2:30pm.

October 19th: Civil Union Debate
The UCC LGBT are teaming up with the UCC Philosophical society to bring you our first debate of the 2009/10 college year. The debate will centre around civil unions, and will take place, as the below poster shows, on Monday October 19th, 2009 in Kane G19 at 7:30pm.
You can join in on the debate, or just sit in on what will without a doubt be a very interesting discussion.

October 21st: Trans Workshop
Our event for the week of October 19th, 2009 will be a Transgender workshop on Wednesday October 21st. Think of it as Trans 101. We’ll be meeting at the UCC Student Centre beforehand at 7:45pm, and the workshop will take place at 8:00pm in Electrical Engineering L3 (located next to the Kane Building). We’ll then be heading to Chambers bar afterwards as usual.

Coming Out Week 2009
Coming Out Week 2009 is upon us. From Monday to Thursday of next week, the UCC LGBT Society will be running it’s annual Coming Out Week. The week comprises of 4 events, including a newcommers’ coffee, movie nights and a not-to-be-missed coming out workshop with Dave Roche. If you’re unsure about any of the event locations, you can meet the committee, and fellow society members, at the student centre in UCC before each event.
