Also,a huge Thank You to everyone who came along to or was involved in our
Fashion Show last week! We are proud to announce we raised 1,005 Euro for
the Irish Cancer Society!
On another topic, The Sexual Violence Centre in Cork are currently carrying
out research
regarding the attitudes and knowledge that 3rd level students have on the
topic of sexual violence. The centre offers great services to victims and
their aim for this is to raise awareness and knowledge on the topic among
college students. The survey is now up on survey monkey:

Next week we are having a fabulous Fashion Show in aid of the Irish Cancer Society in Chambers at 9pm. Tickets are just 5euro on the door, so come along! It’s going to be a brilliant night, fabulous clothes, fabulous people and of course a great cause!

Today, Tuesday Nov. 2nd, we have:
Dr. Mike Murphy, an excellent and popular lecturer from the School of Applied Psychology, UCC, will give a talk entitled ‘Human Sexuality’ on the origins of sexual orientation in Boole 2 from 7.30 – 9pm. He will delve into the biological, pre-natal and environmental theories that been proposed in attempt to try explain the spectrum of human sexuality. This is an joint event between UCC LGBT and UCC Psych Soc with a social afterwards. We will be meeting outside the Student Centre at 7.15!
All are welcome!
Tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 3rd, we have:
A Crafts Night at 7.30pm in ORB 2.44. What does this consist of you ask? Well, if you’ve ever wanted to learn origami or develop your arty side just for fun then come along and see what you can learn!!! With artistic direction from Tara Fox and Origami technique-teaching from Thomas! Meeting outside the Student Centre at 7.15…Come along!!!

- Come along to the Rocky Horror Picture Show tonight, Tuesday 26th, G12 at 7.30pm with the Sci Fi Society. We’ll be providing props!!! We’ll be meeting outside the Student Centre at 7.15
- Tomorrow, Wednesday 27th we are having a Buffy Night, Hallowe’en games and *Fancy Dress Party* in The Other Place from 7pm, meeting outside the Student Centre at 6.45!
- Thursday Night, 28th, we are having an All Members Coffee Posse @ the Quay Co-op at 7pm, meeting outside the Student Centre at 6.45!

If you’ve got a talent you would like to show off (or know soomeone who does!), come along to the UCC’s GOT TALENT sign up that is on today on campus outside the library. Sign-up to get into the competition to show off your talent and win kick-ass prizes. They’ll be outside the library from 11-2pm today so don’t miss them!
Don’t forget to wear purple today in rememberance of the gay teens who took their lives due to bullying. R.I.P. You can visit our wall and see Ellen and Neil Patrick Harris speaking about this here.
On tonight at 9pm in the Mardyke in association with the Atheist Society we are having Bowling and Karaoke for just 5euro. You can meet us at the Student Centre to walk over together at 8.45 this evening. Afters we will have concessions for Freakscene.

If you would still like to go to Pink Training, the deadline for signing up is this Friday the 22nd of October 2010.
Some day next week we will be having a day to collect the money from people for their ticket. This will be the only day for you to give your money to secure your place otherwise your place will be cancelled. As soon as we have a day confirmed and organised we will let you know! The cost for ticket we have learned should be around 15euro, hurrah!

to the Mardyke for Karaoke AND Bowling for just 5euro! We have concessions
after for Freakscene too! We’ll be meeting people outside the Student Centre
at 8.45!

On tonight is our AUDIO QUIZ in Chambers at 9.30! 5 euro per person and GREAT prizes!
Before that though we are having a Walking Tour of the city to the various LGBT spaces around the city for those who are unsure where to go etc. We will be leaving from the Student Centre at 8.30!

Hi Everyone!
We hope you all had a good ‘Coming Out Week 2010′
- Tomorrow, TUESDAY 12th is International Coming Out Day. To celebrate International Coming Out Day
( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Coming_Out_Day – which raises awareness of the LGBT community amongst the wider community) the UCC LGBT Staff Network in conjunction with us, the UCC LGBT Society will be screening a short film telling the coming out stories of some of our members. We will be screening in Brookfield Health Science, room G04 at 5.30. We can meet people outside the Student Centre at 5.15. We would also like to thank the UCC Film Society for their help in making this short film.
- Also on Tuesday is the Students Union LGBT Rights Officer (and other equality officers) elections. These are being held in Boole 4 at 6.30pm socome along after the film screening. Our Campaigns Officer Laura will berunning for LGBTRO so come along and give her your support! - WEDNESDAY 13th October is of course our weekly event. We will be having a Gay Walking Tour of Cork before our *Audio Quiz* in Chambers! If you want to attend the Walking Tour to check out all the LGBT spots in Cork, wewill be meeting outside the Student Centre at 8.30. Our *Audio Quiz* will be on at 9.30 in Chambers!!! Come along! We’ll have great prizes so breakout your competitive side!
