Goddess Gathering, 18th & 19th February, Clonakilty
Goddess Gathering aims to hold spaces for women to gather, physically & virtually, in love, to gain inspiration & strength while connecting with, & embodying, the Divine Feminine within ourselves & creating new ways of being in the world.
One of the ways in which we do this is to hold physical gatherings that are either for women only or that are focused on feminine energy; the Spring Gathering in February 2011 is a physical gathering of remarkable women in the beautiful setting of West Cork on the south west coast of Ireland. For more info, check out out the Facebook page!

Endangered Species Summit, London, 4th March, 2011
At the summit, body image activists from all over the world will be talking about the hot topics in their countries, the positive changes that are being made and the issues that still need to be addressed. I know that there is a lot of interest in the topic of body image and I wanted to invite members of the Cork Feminista to meet with me ahead of the summit to share their views and ideas so that their voices are heard at the international event in March. If anyone is interested, please get in touch: deirdre.cowman@any-body.org. For more info on the summit check out the website http://www.endangeredspecieswomen.org.uk.
A Carnival of Feminist Cultural Activism, University of York, UK, 3-5 March 2011
This carnival is part-festival, part-conference. We seek to bring together artists, activists and academics from many nations to learn from each other, celebrate our creativity, and advance feminist work. We ask, can feminist art save the world, and if so, how?
Turn the Light On: An arts day for women filmmakers, artists, photographers, March 2011
We are hoping to exhibit artwork and screen films by women artists to coincide with International Women’s Day in March. Please have a look at our website: https://sites.google.com/site/turnthelighton2011/home . And send us in examples/photos or descriptions of your work to turnthelighton2011@gmail.com. You don’t have to be a professional to submit works! For those interested, before the opening of the exhibition, we are organising an informal roundtable discussion for women to talk about why and how they got involved in their particular area of the arts. It’s hoped that this discussion will be useful for anyone looking for advice or inspiration on how to get involved in the Arts scene in Ireland.
CALL FOR PAPERS: Feminism, women’s movements and women in movement
