Student Counselling and Development – Individual and group counselling is available to students who require assistance in dealing with problems which prevent or indeed inhibit their academic and social progress in UCC. The Mature Student Officer works closely with Student Counselling in the provision of services which enhance the mature student experience.

CALM – Computer Aided Lifestyle Management – is a new online multimedia programme available to all students and staff at University College Cork. It uses interactive self-help tools to identify, motivate and educate you around issues such as anxiety, insomnia, stress and substance misuse. Once you have identified any issues, CALM can help you to deal with your thoughts and feelings associated with them. You can find the link to CALM on http://www.ucc.ie/services/studentcounselling/ .
The Life Matters Programme – LifeMatters is a UCC wide project focused on enhancing the student experience by promoting mental health, emotional wellbeing and life skills. It is a biological, psychological and social programme, designed and researched by Dr Margaret O’Rourke, Director of Behavioural Science, School of Medicine, UCC. The Life Matters programme is a core contributor to the UCC strategic plan to enhance the student experience and is delivered to students over five workshops.

The Buddy System - Steven, the Membership Officer of the LGBT Society is there to offer a helping hand to those who are just coming out or shy about joining the society for the first time. Under the Member Officer’s remit is the Buddy System. The Buddy System is a peer mentoring service that pairs individuals with students who have experienced the coming out process and who can offer an understanding ear or simply a familiar face at your first meeting. If you wish to contact the Membership Officer in confidentiality or to express interest in entering the Buddy System, you may do so at lgbt@uccsocieties.ie

* Live and let live recovery group: This is run by the Southern gay men’s health project. This group is a recovery group for gay and bisexual men only. The group runs under the same principles as A.A. Live & Let Live meet every Friday night.
* HIV positive group: This group have been meeting for some time now and is becoming a source of support and social networking for its members.
* Parent Support Group: This is a group of parents who offer support and information to parents and families of gay, lesbian and bi-sexual people. This is run in collaboration with Linc.

Linc (Lesbians in Cork) is a network and community resource centre based in Cork city. Linc as an organisation was setup in 2000 and it is primarily for women who identify as lesbian or bisexual, including transgender people.
